Creation
Ken Drummond May , 2001
Our
intelligence to comprehend the vast scope of the universe can be
compared to that of an ant. What does an ant know of Los Angeles, about
whether or not the earth is round, of Arcturus, of the Andromeda
galaxy? In the same way, there are vast mysteries that are not
comprehended or dreamed of by our intelligence. So we spend time
speculating (somewhat idly perhaps) about our little corner of the
universe.
Since we cannot fathom the mystery of creation through the
mind (astronomical theories are changing every day now), we should
easily be open to the idea that there may be other ways of knowing
about creation. Indeed we might understand that the mind is actually
limiting us.
If the creator (or the origin of creation--which
preceded creation) did not have any physical manifestation, perhaps
there is no “actual” physical manifestation of creation either. Now
that we are gaining experience of the wonders of cyberspace and
computers, we perceive many things that have apparent form and shape
(photos, videos), but are not actually physical constructs as we
usually think of them. Could it not be that creation is a sort of
motion picture or dream in the mind of God? It seems real to us because
we are subject to or living within the rules of the creation.
If the
above is correct, the way of finding out the truths behind creation
might be to contact or kind of merge with the creator. It can't really
be done intellectually because, the mind as something like a physical
construct, is trapped within the fabric of creation.
Great men and
women down through time have claimed to have made this contact,
communion, or realization of God or truth. Their claims are ignored or
scorned by many because most people dwell on the limitations of the
material plane, hidebound by the laws of matter.
Communion with, or
realization of God can be achieved through a step-by-step process as
taught by many masters or adepts to their disciples. Very similar
methods have been passed on to their disciples by such luminaries as
Jesus, Krishna, Buddha, and many others, most of them not as well known
to the world as these three.
Basic principles of living and turning
ourselves in the direction of God or truth are taught by those who have
reached Him. These principles serve as a general introduction to any
members of the human race who have a sincere interest in discovering
the mystery of their existence. Following the trail pointed out by the
masters, sincere seekers will be led to methods of gaining deeper and
deeper understanding. These methods are available to all with a genuine
interest but are not shown to casual curiosity seekers.
Many give
lip service to God through particular religions, stressing only the
necessity to either have faith or "believe as I do," without adopting
methods of actually modifying their own ways of life. If you live as a
human you will know what a human knows. If you learn to live as a god,
you will come to know and experience the nature of God .
If you
understand this, I am sure that your sincere and humble interest will
lead you in the direction you want to go. Through steadfast effort on
your part you will gradually be shown the way to achieve awareness
beyond anything of which you can currently conceive.
